St. Luke’s breaking ground on new community clinic in south Nampa

St. Luke’s is working to better serve local communities and neighborhoods and will soon extend health care access to south Nampa. On Monday, Aug. 22, St. Luke’s broke ground on a new community clinic located near South Middleton Road and Roosevelt Avenue in south Nampa.

This clinic is the first of its kind for St. Luke’s and will offer primary care services including pediatrics, family and internal medicine, as well as urgent care and same day visits, an in-house pharmacy, labs and x-rays.

Canyon County’s population has increased almost 8% over the past two years with families flocking to the Nampa area. The new clinic in Nampa hopes to improve access in an area where St. Luke’s previously had limited-service options.

The clinic represents St. Luke’s commitment to providing consistent, high-quality care to its patients. Mary Cronin, vice president of consumer access and experience for St. Luke’s, says that the new clinic will bring services closer to where people live, work and play.

“Our goal is to bring care within 10 minutes of every single rooftop," she said. "We want to reduce consumer effort and provide more choices for patients.”

Some of these choices include bringing in specialists to the clinic, offering more telehealth services, in-house lab work and imaging, and same-day access. The pharmacy housed within the clinic will also help eliminate the additional step of having to drive to a pharmacy to pick up medication after a visit. Cronin says that the Nampa clinic is just the beginning for St. Luke’s community clinics.

"We expect to learn a lot from the residents of south Nampa and Canyon County and use that to transform how we deliver care," Cronin said. "What we learn in this community will help inform what we do at future locations.”
